Here is a batch of production stills, behind the scenes photos, as well as an exclusive trailer for the Cerina Vincent-starring revenge thriller. The release date has not been said yet but I will try to keep you updated on that.        Read on! Said Steven Monroe of the film’s personality as it defines itself during the post-production process (the flick wrapped on July 26th, having shot on location in Vegas, Yucca Valley and the Big Picture Soundstage in Burbank, California), “At its heart it’s a good guy/girl versus the bad guys revenge tale in its truest form.” Regarding the aspects of the director’s own personality unique to MoniKa (Monroe has helmed a wide array of varying genre flicks from the hard edged I Spit on Your Grave to the pure man-in-a-suit old school creature flick It Waits, among others), the filmmaker offered, “I don’t think after the amount of films I have directed that there is any of my personality that has not come out at one time or another although I think the personality that in the past was not allowed to say ‘No, this is the right thing or the best thing for the film’ is certainly out this time, and for me ultimately that ends up being for the best of the film, when the filmmaker gets to do his job.” Monroe is aiming for picture lock by the end of the month with post completed by the end of September. Well for her new film Monika. And it looks like her sister Angela Vincent will be making her first debut in the film also congrats to her.  I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE director Steven R. Monroe’s next feature will be a revenge action/thriller entitled HOLE IN THE DESERT. Cerina Vincent (below, CABIN FEVER) – who previously worked for Monroe on IT WAITS, SASQUATCH MOUNTAIN and COMPLACENT – has signed on as one of the leads. Here is the plot: The film is a violent, edgy ride focusing on the forlorn Reagan Tyler, a man who is troubled by visions and premonitions that ultimately lead him to a small desert town. It’s there that Reagan meets the beautiful and mysterious Monika (Vincent), a young woman who turns out to have been killed the night before he even met her. Reagan is then forced to put the puzzle together of what happened, how she is still present, and help Monika with her revenge on the killers of her younger sister. Monroe had this to say about the project: “All involved are very excited that we are doing this film. For me to have the opportunity to write and direct, and then on top of that be a producer makes it all that much better. Though it was also a great project to be a part of, this film is very different from I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE. We are assembling a great cast for HOLE IN THE DESERT; Cerina Vincent is already onboard to play the tough, beautiful and vengeful Monika.” Vincent, who will also serve as an executive producer, added: “I am just thrilled to be a part of this. It’s truly an honor to work with director Steven R. Monroe again. His script is incredible – it’s got wit, edge, and depth… His vision for this will make for an edgy, sexy, suspenseful ride with moments of tenderness and some intense violence.” The independently financed feature is scheduled to begin filming in June and is expected to be completed in early September.
